Leadon Timber Frame Ltd is a family-owned timber frame manufacturer based at Dunnamore Road, Cookstown.

Leadon manufactures timber frame structures in Northern Ireland for self-builders, developers and construction professionals. Frames are manufactured off site for consistency and accuracy before delivery.

Once delivered, the timber frame kit can be erected and enclosed quickly, allowing follow-on trades to begin sooner. Customers can choose a supply-only timber frame package or a supply-and-erect service depending on the requirements of the project.

Leadon also manufactures and supplies Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for wall and roof construction. SIPs combine rigid insulation between structural OSB/3 layers, providing an alternative timber construction system designed to achieve strong thermal performance with reduced thermal bridging.

The factory-made panels are delivered to site ready for construction. Once erected, the system can provide an airtight building envelope while allowing service voids and follow-on trades to progress efficiently.

Leadon designs and manufactures wood web joists for projects including social housing and high-end one-off homes. Their open-web construction can accommodate longer clear spans than traditional solid joists while leaving space for pipework, ducting and building services to pass through the floor zone.

The joists are manufactured to suit the project rather than simply supplied in standard lengths. This made-to-measure approach also helps reduce material waste during production.

Energy performance can be incorporated into the timber frame package through insulation, airtight barriers and heat-recovery solutions. Leadon's airtight system creates a sealed envelope around the building, with joints and openings carefully taped and sealed to help limit unwanted air leakage.

This can be combined with appropriate insulation and mechanical heat-recovery systems as part of a wider energy-efficient construction package.

Leadon also provides sectional buildings designed around the needs of the customer. Applications include classrooms and office accommodation, with structures available in timber or steel frame and a choice of internal and external finishes.
