Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills back on track
The north coast’s historic Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills Railway is to get back on track for the first time in 53 years.
The province's newest railway will be officially opened on Saturday 16 March, bringing an eight-year fundraising campaign to fruition.
A Northern Ireland Tourist Board grant of £500,000 and a private donation of £200,000 have helped the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Railway become a reality.
The project also involved the expertise of an army bridge-building team - and three years of work by almost 200 workers.
The result is being billed as a fabulous scenic journey for those wishing to travel in style from the Giant's Causeway to the nearby town of Bushmills, where the famous whiskey is distilled.
The new service will be open to the public this weekend, and it is expected, with the summer approaching, that the venture is set to be a sure-fire success.

Police appeal for information on missing Bushmills man
Police in Ballycastle have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a missing Bushmills man. Samuel Taylor, 64, has not been seen since he left his Causeway Court home on Thursday night. He is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, of slim build and with a fresh complexion.

Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.

Causeway Golf Resort Businessman Dies
A Northern Ireland businessman who was behind a £100m project to build a hotel and golf resort on the Causeway coast in Antrim has died. Dr Alistair Hanna, who was born in Belfast, was a prominent figure behind the plans to build Bushmills Dunes golf course and hotel. He passed away today following a four-year battle with cancer.
