Iceland contract for new WR Belfast branch

The opening in Belfast of WR Refrigeration's first branch in Northern Ireland has been marked by the award of a new service and maintenance contract for 34 Iceland stores in the province.

With 27 service and maintenance branches throughout the UK and over 600 employees, WR Refrigeration is the UK's largest independent refrigeration and air conditioning contractor.

Part of Leicester-based WR Group Holdings Limited, the company specialises in the design, installation, service and maintenance of refrigeration systems for the retail, commercial and light industrial sectors, especially in the perishable retail goods and food processing markets.

Stephen Whitehead, WR's service director said: "The opening of our Belfast branch confirms our commitment to providing quality service to our existing customer base in Northern Ireland and will surely prove to be a platform for continued growth in this important region."

WR's team of service and maintenance engineers for Northern Ireland is based at Belfast's Loughside Industrial Park with local man Brian Carson as service manager and Gemma Henderson as service controller.

WR Refrigeration is registered with Lloyds to ISO 9001/BS 5750 Part 1 and is an active member of the British Refrigeration Association. (MB)

LAUNCH OF BELFAST FERRY SERVICE DELAYED
THE launch date for a new catamaran-ferry service around Belfast Lough scheduled to be up and running this summer has been pushed back to late September. The two state-of-the-art high-speed catamarans specially designed for the ferry service have been completed in Queensland but are unable to begin their voyage to Belfast.
