Belfast Film Production Company Expands
Belfast-based independent production company, Green Inc. Film & Television, has announced that it has secured comedy development funding from three main UK broadcasters (C4, ITV and BBC).
Meanwhile its production slate continues to expand through diversification into new genres.
This news incorporates the addition of a new office in central London, which will focus on development of factual entertainment shows.
Green Inc., currently is in production, or funded development for BBC Entertainment, Channel 4, RTÉ ITV Comedy, BBC Comedy, BBC NI and UTV. This news of Green Inc's expansion follows the announcement this week that the company has been commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland to produce The Friday Show, a primetime entertainment programme for Friday nights.
Green Inc., which has staff currently working in Belfast, Dublin, London and Glasgow, is a leading producer of quality network programmng.
Specialising in the three main areas of entertainment, comedy and factual entertainment, the company was ranked third Factual Entertainment Producer in the UK.
Part of Green Inc.'s strategy to expand includes their recent diversification into new genres such as online production (recently delivering a pilot for Slink TV for BBC Switch), working with archive material, scripted comedy radio and exploring co-productions partners.
The opening of the London office comes amid a flurry of interest from broadcasters and an increase in production output with a primary drive to help connect regional partnerships, talent pools and co-productions with the broadcasting capital.
Stephen Stewart, Managing Director of Green Inc., said: "As a long established out-of-London company, we have always had a close relationship with London, and indeed the international broadcasters and the opening of this office is simply the result of several recent projects and developments that we are doing with them.
"The broadcasters have clearly begun to realise the relatively untapped potential that exists in Northern Ireland and our aim is to continue to deliver exciting series for the network and local broadcasters that is the match or better than anything from anywhere in the UK."
Green Inc. is at the forefront of commissions being received from nations and regions teams including the new BBC targets, the recent Channel 4 announcement regarding a NI focused commissioning team and ITV's regional development fund.
Green Inc's co-productions include Panic Attack, a BBC daytime series with 5 Live presenter Stephen Nolan's production company, Lucky Monday, their recently announced development agreement with London-based company CTVC and past productions for Irish language broadcaster TG4 with Tobar Productions.
