Construction companies opt for paperless solution
Software solutions company Causeway Technologies has joined forces with six leading contractors in a move that will see the firms use Causeway's Tradex Service to handle invoices and other key documents.
Alfred McAlpine, AMEC, Carillion, McNicholas Construction, Mowlem and Taylor Woodrow Construction are all to avail of Causeway Tradex, an electronic exchange which aims to provide a secure online solution to paper-intensive administrative activities.
Tim Cole, Causeway’s VP Strategic Development said: “At the heart of construction operations lie the sourcing, procurement and administration of materials and service items.
"Handling tens of thousands of paper orders, invoices and despatch notes means many man-hours are spent re-keying, checking, and archiving these documents. Causeway Tradex has been developed to allow supply chain partners to exchange electronic trading documents between their back office systems."
All the companies involved in this initiative will now be able to trade electronically through an information exchange between the many applications and business process that underpin construction projects, leading to lower processing costs and the elimination of inefficient manual processes.
Phil Brown, Causeway’s CEO, added: “I am confident that this service will deliver significant processing efficiency, cost reduction opportunities and enhanced partnerships within our industry supply chain.”
Causeway Technologies Inc is headquartered in High Wycombe, and employs around 100 people in offices in Maidstone, UK and Los Angeles, USA.
