New Mum's Swine Flu Condition 'Stable'
A new mother airlifted from Northern Ireland to London after contracting swine flu is now in a stable condition.
Shirley Hamilton, 36, from Tattysallagh Road, Omagh, gave birth to her son in the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen a few days ago.
She was then moved to Craigavon Area Hospital, where the diagnosis was confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Southern Health Trust said the decision was made to transfer the patient to Royal Brompton Hospital in London last Friday.
Although Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust declined to comment on the treatment the woman is receiving, a spokesman said her condition was stable.
The news comes as the NI Department of Health released its latest statistics on swine flu.
They said the total number of laboratory confirmed cases in Northern Ireland as at noon on 28 October was just one short of 900.
