Former bank employees face £750,000 theft charge
Two former employees of Ulster Bank in Belfast's City Centre men have been charged with stealing £750,000.
The two men, who are in their 40s, are to appear at Laganside Magistrates on Saturday February 23 on charges of theft and money laundering at the bank's Waring Street branch.
Their arrests followed an investigation by the Economic Crime Bureau, which is a division of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
A police spokesman said they had recovered in excess of £250,00 and had taken steps to freeze significant amounts of money in other accounts.
The police have said the investigation is ongoing and that a third man was arrested on Thursday evening.
In a statement the Ulster Bank said they were "unable to comment at this time". However they said: "It was as a result of our co-operation with the Police that the situation was uncovered. Naturally we will continue to cooperate with the Police in the investigation. Customers are totally unaffected by the development."

Two Men Arrested Over Northern Bank Robbery Cash
Two men are to appear in court after being arrested yesterday in connection with money laundering of cash taken during the Northern Bank raid in 2004. Gardai in Cork have arrested two men aged 62 and 40-years-old in Cork City yesterday. Last month, Ted Cunningham, 60, was jailed for ten years for his involvement in the robbery.
