Emerald Star To Axe 20 Jobs
The Emerald Star Crusier company has announced plans to downside operations in Ireland with the loss of 20 jobs.
It is understood that the jobs will be lost in the company's sales and marketing.
The company said that the decision was due to the current economic climate and dwindling sales in Ireland and said that it was being made with "great regret".
The company - formerly owned by Guinness - has been operating for over 40 years and is one of the largest operators of boating holidays in Ireland.
They currently employ 50 people in their three bases in Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitrim, Portumna in Galway and Belturbet in Cavan.
