Man injured in paramilitary style attack

A man has been injured in a paramilitary style attack in Belfast.

The man was shot in the wrist in the attack which happened at about 9.30pm on Wednesday February 20. The incident happened in an alleyway between the New Lodge Road and Strateden Street in the north of the city.

Meanwhile the police have found what they believe to be two pipebombs in separate searches. The first device was found following an alert on the Fallylea Road in County Londonderry.

The main Derry to Belfast road at the Glenshane Pass was closed for some time on Wednesday following telephone warnings that bombs had been left in the area.

The second device was discovered on the A29 Moneymore to Cookstown Road in County Tyrone. A number of items have been removed for further examination.

Man Shot In Co L'Derry
A man has been shot in the ankle in Co L'Derry. The paramilitary-style attack happened near the Creggan shops at around 7.45pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".

Man Arrested Over Crossbow Attack
Police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was shot with a crossbow as he sat in his car. The attack happened on Belgravia Avenue in the Lisburn Road area at about 17:20 on Wednesday. The victim was sitting in a car along with a 29-year-old woman, who escaped injury. The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
