Belfast man dies following suicide shooting in Dublin
A Belfast man who walked into a police station in the Republic of Ireland and shot himself in the head in front of Garda has died in hospital.
Colm Peake, 40, who was originally from Belfast, shot himself in front of a number of Gardaí officers and people who were in Fitzgibbon Street Station in north Dublin on Monday.
Mr Peake had been placed on a life support machine in the Mater Hospital in Dublin but later died shortly before 4pm on Wednesday February 20.
Security sources have said he was a former paramilitary and had been linked to the republican splinter group, the Irish National Liberation Army.
The Irish police said Mr Peake walked into the station at about 5.35pm on Monday and approached the counter where a member of the public was being dealt with by a police officer. Taking a gun from his pocket, Mr Peake shot himself in the head.
His girlfriend who called police after hearing public appeals later identified him.

Man Arrested In Bangor Shooting Investigation
A man has been arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of two men in Bangor. The male victims, aged 24 and 33, were shot as they sat in a car in the Eastway area of the Whitehill estate at about 00:45 on 10 February. UTV has reported that the UVF are thought to have been behind the attack.

Police link hostage incident to attack on police station
Police have linked a gun attack on a police station on Wednesday night with a hostage incident in Co Antrim. A van used in the shooting of Randalstown PSNI station on Wednesday evening is believed to have been the vehicle stolen earlier in the evening from a family who were held hostage by a gang of men at a house in Craigstown Road in the town.

The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.
