Ballymena Health Centre Plans Revealed
Plants to build a £14m health centre in Co Antrim have been unveiled.
Gareth Hoskins Architects and Keppie Design have designed the polyclinic-style Ballymena Heath & Carer Centre, which will be constructed at the Braid Valley Hospital site.
The facility will have its departments split across two floors, with a third floor consisting of trust services and office accommodation.
The development will also include an internal atrium and an open courtyard and carry a Breeam 'excellent' rating.
In September 2006, the Northern Health Trust approved a consultation document proposing that Braid Valley Hospital should be replaced with a new Health and Care Centre.
Gareth Hoskins Architects and Keppie Design have been appointed to design a series of health buildings for the Northern Health Trust, through the PCCI framework for Northern Ireland Health Estates.
