Local high-tech companies visit Hong Kong
A number of Northern Ireland based companies are currently on a trade mission to Hong Kong.
Thought to be the first trade mission of its type from Northern Ireland, the companies attending include those in the high technology biotechnology and medical health sectors.
The companies will showcase their latest developments in the cutting edge products designed to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for medical conditions.
Accompanying the delegation of local representatives is Stormont Assembly Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Sir Reg Empey.
In December 2001, a more diversified trade mission from Northern Ireland visited Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong as part of a mission organised by trade International Northern Ireland.
In November FM Environmental reported agreeing a protocol with Shanghai Power to manufacture waste treatment equipment in China. (SP)
