PIK Engineering receive Innovation West District award
Irvinestown based PIK Engineering have been recognised as one of the region's most innovative businesses.
The company have been awarded a District award in the Innovation West awards competition by Fermanagh District Council and are now in the running to win one of seven prestigious Regional awards - demonstrating their ability to become a leader in their field.
Speaking at the district celebration event in the Mellon Country Inn, Joe Doherty, Western Regional Manager LEDU, praised businesses like PIK Engineering who continue to strive for improvement in all aspects of their operations and PIK Engineering in particular, who have doubled their workforce in the past 18 months.
He said: "Our region has suffered several severe economic blows in recent times, mostly affecting the larger firms in the traditional manufacturing sector. It is therefore particularly heartening to see our small firms sector rising to the challenge of finding so many new and varied ways of developing their processes, their markets and, in many cases, their bottom line".
This is the first year in which this awards competition has been held, attracting over 100 high quality entries from throughout Fermanagh and Tyrone.
Winning an award at district level should significantly raise the standing of the winners in the eyes of employees, customers, suppliers, competitors and the community at large. (GB)
