Lisburn man’s windfall in Irish Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
A Lisburn man has walked away from the RTE’s version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? with a 125,000 euro windfall.
Robert Scott (50), a history enthusiast, looked strong throughout the programme, but he called it quits at the 125,000 euro stage and refused to risk all on a who bought Manhattan island for $24 in the 17th century. As it turned out he knew answer – Peter Minuit.
Mr Scott had been on the programme in October but had failed to make it into the hot seat on that occasion. His progress this time was assured and all his lifelines were in place as he took the 32,000 euro question. He was hesitant over the identity of the Sundance Kid, but saw his hunch – Harry Longabaugh – confirmed by when he used his 50/50 lifeline.
A question on novelist Patricia Cornwall posed no problems for 64,000 euros but he had to ask the audience to get name of the founder of Red Cross – Jean Henri Durant. The supermarket manager then felt it was time to take the money and presenter Gay Burn handed over the 125,000 euro cheque. (GMcG)

Bloody Sunday Families Await Prosecution Decision
The families of 13 people killed on Bloody Sunday in 1972 have gathered in L'Derry to await a decision on whether 17 soldiers involved on the day are to be prosecuted. The Public Prosecution Service is due to release its decision at around 11am today, Thursday 14 March, having considered 125,000 pages of material.
