High Tech Firm Expands Into GB Market

Jobs are being created as an Irish video and telecommunications firm expands.

JSR Technology offers a broad range of expert ICT services including bespoke software development, website design, telecommunications systems, video conferencing, computer networking and wireless CCTV systems.

Based in Portrush and Belfast, it is being assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to put over £176,000 in an initiative to grow sales of its innovative software products and other technology services in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

Alongside the products it has developed for the tourism industry, JSR Technology's expansion will lead to five new jobs, four of which are being assisted by Invest NI as part of a £31,400 package. The company currently employs eight people.

The investment was announced by JSR Technology Managing Director Jason Rosborough who said that the company plans to launch its innovative software solutions, Sitebook for caravan site operators and BedBook for bed and breakfast businesses, in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

The products are currently being used successfully by customers in Northern Ireland.

"Our research in Great Britain and the Republic has indicated that our existing software products are unique and give us a competitive edge in the niche markets that we've identified. What we now have to do is harness this market potential as quickly as practicable and thereby build a strong position.

"We aim to achieve this through an aggressive sales drive and by ensuring that customers receive high quality and very responsive services.

"In addition to the SiteBook and BedBook software solutions, we have developed other areas of expertise and knowledge which we intend to deploy to secure business in our two target markets.

"Invest NI's support since the company's formation has been invaluable. The advice, support and encouragement that we've received has enabled me to grow the business quickly from an initial idea about creating and running my own company," he said.

The move was welcomed by Des Gartland, Manager of Invest NI's Western Regional Office in Londonderry, during a visit to the ICT company.

"JSR Technology is an entrepreneurial business which has made significant progress in the local marketplace since its formation in 2005.

"Our support is geared to help this small business to develop sales through measures that will strengthen its capabilities, especially in the key areas of sales and marketing and technical support.

"We are also keen to see the company use its expertise and commitment to innovation to develop new software products for the market opportunities it has pinpointed outside Northern Ireland.

"This is a small and ambitious company which has a strong technology base and now offers existing and potential customers a wide range of quality products and services," he concluded.
