High Court ban for local company directors
Three local people have been disqualified from being company directors following appearances in the High Court.
Margaret Sinclair Allen from Lisburn was disqualified from being a company director for five years as a result of her conduct as a director of Mayfayre Fine Foods Limited, Lisburn.
Mayfayre Fine Foods traded as a food manufacturer from premises at 20 Gregg Street, Lisburn from 1989 to May 1999. It was wound up by the High Court on June 3, 1999 with an estimated deficiency to creditors of £124,800.
Meanwhile, David Richard Rice and Ian William Adams from Helens's Bay and Donaghadee, respectively were disqualified from being company directors for five years as a result of their conduct as directors of Thorndon Developments Limited.
Thorndon Developments traded in the design, building and management of nursing homes from premises at 91b High Street, Bangor, Co Down from 1995 to September 23, 1999. The company was wound up by the High Court on September 23, 1999 with an estimated deficiency to creditors of £153,911. (MB)

'Unfit' company directors’ targeted by new law
A new law is set to be introduced in Northern Ireland tomorrow which will target the "unfitness" of company directors and their roles within business. The Company Directors’ Disqualification (Northern Ireland) Order 2002 amends and consolidates the existing law relating to the disqualification of company directors.

Husband and wife team disqualified from being company directors
A husband and wife team have been disqualified from being company directors by the High Court. Edward Manning Junior and Angela Manning, from Belfast, were disqualified for eight years and four years respectively as a result of their conduct as directors of Kennedy Way Karparts Limited.

High Court disqualifies two football club directors
Two directors of a Newry Football Club have been disqualified for a period of five years at the High Court in Belfast. The High Court disqualified Trevor Denis Warde and James Coleman Rooney, both from Newry, as a result of their conduct in relation to Newry Town Football Club (1997) Limited.
