Fujitsu Isotech to close plant in Dublin
Around 130 employees at the Fujitsu Isotech factory in the Republic of Ireland will lose their jobs by the end of the month.
The workers at the Dublin plant were told that the factory would cease operations at the end of January, 2002.
The company said that the Dublin plant in Blanchardstown Industrial Park, which manufactures components for dot matrix printers, was closing due to a declining market for the products produced at the plant.
Workers at the factory were informed that the closure of the works in Dublin were as a result of a consolidation of Fujitsu’s Irish operations in the light of the current global economic downturn. (CD)
