Go reports rise in passengers in late 2001
Budget flights airline Go has revealed an increase in passenger numbers in December last year.
Go said that passengers carried in December 2001 rose to 340,384, up from 216,413 in the same period in 2000. This represented an average 70.5 per cent load factor an increase of 1.6 per cent in the number of passenger seats taken.
Sold by British Airways last year, Go has been expanding the number of aircraft and routes the company operates throughout Europe.
However, the healthy December figures conceal the usual restrictions imposed by an off-peak, seasonal timetable and a reduction in the volume of business flights on some routes.
Go is to continue with expansion plans from its three UK hubs to various European destinations by mid 2002. Currently the airline flies to some 24 destinations in Europe. (SP)
