Daíl Ministers Recall Air India Bombing
Government representatives from Ireland, India and Canada will join relatives and friends of the victims of the Air India crash in West Cork today.
Today is the 25th anniversary of the incident, when a total of 329 people died after a bomb exploded on board the flight from Montreal to London.
The plane was 180 miles southwest of Ireland when the explosion occurred.
It is expected that Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will apologise for his country's failings in the lead-up to the attack and the subsequent investigation.
The plane was carrying mostly Canadians of Indian descent.
Speaking at the commemoration, Daíl Minister Michéal Martin (pictured) said: "There can be no justification for the murder of innocents in pursuit of any political end.
"All who have been touched by the evil and destruction inflicted by callous terrorism utterly condemn these brutal, senseless, acts."
Mr Martin added that it was vitally important all democratic nations work together to combat terrorism in all its forms.
