Sx3 confirm voluntary redundancies
Viridian-owned IT subsidiary Sx3 has confirmed it is seeking “redundancies through voluntary measures” throughout its bases in Great Britain and Ireland.
In a statement released by management at Sx3, the company also confirmed that they would be “rationalising some operational activities following the full integration of a number of businesses it acquired last year”.
The statement added: "As with other businesses in the IT sector, Sx3 is facing pressure on costs and the company has experienced a slower conversion of orders into revenue.”
The news follows recent rumours in which the company planned to enforce redundancies in the run up to Christmas. However, while the spokesperson could not confirm the number of potential job cuts, he did say the company were confident of expanding their customer base over the medium to long-term future.
Viridian Group is Northern Ireland's largest listed company by turnover. The Group includes Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), regulates electricity transmission, distribution and supply, Sx3, technology based business outsourcing solutions, and NIE Powerteam. (MB)
