Grafton Sails Into Lagan HQ
One of Ireland's best known employment solutions companies has signalled a solid vote of confidence in NI with the announcement that it is to locate its international headquarters in Belfast.
The Grafton Employment Group PLC will move to 'The Boat' an iconic building that is situated on the north bank of the River Lagan.
With over 70 offices and a presence in 16 countries, Grafton will occupy almost 13,000 sq ft in over one third of the total office space available.
It is the first commercial letting in the recently completed, 14-storey development which includes high specification office space, eight luxury penthouse apartments and a ground and first floor restaurant opportunity, adjacent to Custom House Square.
Robert Ditty of letting agents, Osborne King confirmed that Grafton would be occupying part of the ground and first floors and all of the second and third floors.
"This is a major office letting in what has been a challenging market over the past few years.
"We view it as a further indication of a new-found optimism and confidence that things are improving.
"To have secured a tenant with the standing of Grafton reflects the fact that 'The Boat' undoubtedly offers some of the highest quality and most prestigious office accommodation available in Belfast today," he said.
Also commenting on the move, Cathy McCorry, Managing Director, Grafton Employment Group Ireland said: "We are delighted to be opening our new Global Headquarters in this iconic building.
"The Boat reflects the innovative nature of our organisation and provides superb facilities for our growing business. It rivals our offices in Prague, Santiago and Dubai for light, space and location, it is certainly the jewel in our crown. We look forward to moving in November," she said.
It is understood that there is considerable further interest in the remaining office accommodation (suites of 1400 -8000 sq.ft.), which offers spectacular views over the city of Belfast, the river Lagan and Belfast Lough.
