Erne Resort Successfully Partners Tour Firm
A £1m tourism contract for the next two years in a Co Fermanagh resort has been confirmed after the success of this year's partnership between the Lough Erne Resort and Tauck World Discovery.
It quadrupled its number of tours to the resort and confirmed the deal for 2011 and 2012.
Welcoming the announcement Jonathan Stapleton, General Manager at Lough Erne Resort, an AA 5 Star Hotel, said: "Lough Erne Resort has invested significant resources into targeting the international market since opening in October 2007.
"As a result visitors from international markets are set to play an increasingly important role in the resort's continued expansion.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome even more Tauck clients to The Fermanagh Lakelands in 2011.
"Earlier this year we secured our first-ever Tauck Tours contract and welcomed over 400 North American guests during 10 different tours between May and September.
"This provided us with the perfect opportunity to showcase what Lough Erne Resort and the Fermanagh Lakelands has to offer, from breathtaking scenery right through to world class leisure facilities and gourmet food prepared by our acclaimed chef Noel McMeel and his team," he explained.
"Feedback from these international guests was extremely positive and as a result Tauck Tours have just confirmed that they will be increasing the number of tours from 10 to a total of 39 for 2011, with a similar number envisaged for 2012.
"This is a very encouraging development, particularly in light of the fact that Tauck Tours enjoys the travel industry's highest-guest return rate."
Lough Erne Resort also recently attracted some of the world's most talented young golfers to play at the 14th Faldo Series Grand Final.
The Grand Final event was played on The Faldo Championship Course under the supervision of Sir Nick Faldo, course designer and founder of The Faldo Series.
The Resort has also added to its 5 star golfing experience with the opening of The Faldo Academy, a state of the art Practice and Tuition Centre, headed up by Lynn McCool, Director of Golf and Head Professional.
