Sir Reg blends praise for local coffee company
Speaking at the official opening of Johnson Brothers on November 21 Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Enterprise Trade and Investment, said: "Small businesses in Northern Ireland have proven time and time again that niche products are the key to the development of sustainable, competitive and profitable businesses. Synonymous with coffee for almost one hundred years, Johnson Brothers’ commitment to continued product development and astute reading of the market to meet consumer demand has accelerated the company’s potential in the Republic of Ireland and the UK.”
Johnson Brothers have recently upgraded their coffee production facilities in Lisburn.
Sir Reg said: "With two recently appointed agents in England, the company’s ultimate aim to obtain a multiple listing within the retail sector, is now firmly within its grasp. As Johnson Brothers’ export business continues to grow, this in turn will hopefully mean more employment opportunities within the local community. The Johnson Brothers’ Belfast company currently employs 106 people locally with 19 directly involved in the coffee manufacturing business.”
The Minister said the firm’s ongoing success was an example to other small businesses. (CD)
