Powerful Storm Cuts NI Electricity Supplies
Power is being restored across parts of NI that were hit by high winds and heavy, driving rain overnight.
NIE staff have been working throughout Thursday night and early Friday morning to restore power to about 3,500 homes, although at one stage, 6,000 homes were without electricity.
By 10am on Friday morning 600 homes were still without power and there were 47 individual faults on the network.
NIE said the main areas affected were Dungannon and Omagh in Co Tyrone.
Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh was the worst affected area on Thursday night with 1,500 dwellings without power.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall caused flooding to a number of roads, particularly in the north-west with the Roads Service saying the B72 Liskey Road between Victoria Bridge and Strabane remained closed due to a tree which had fallen, as did the B48 Duncastle Road between Donamanagh and New Buildings.

Roads Service Ready For Winter Weather
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has confirmed that the Department's winter service team is prepared to tackle the current cold snap. Around 300 staff and 130 gritters are ready to salt main roads, while 12 snow blowers are available for deployment if necessary. NIE Restores Power To 'Majority' Of Homes
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) technicians have been working through the night to see that the majority of homes that experienced power loss due to severe winds have been reconnected. Over 30,000 customers had electricity supplies restored yesterday, and NIE says less than 50 homes remain without electricity.
