The app has been developed in conjunction with iSites and features live news reports, weather forecasts, local business and political news, sport, entertainment and blogs by UTV's respected correspondents.
The mobile app builds on the strength and reputation of UTV Live, and will allow smart phone users to access UTV's high quality news and current affairs content.
The UTV Live app is the latest addition to the UTV Media family, alongside popular radio apps from U105 and talkSPORT.
Rob Morrison, Head of News and Content, UTV said: "UTV aims to make our content available to as many people as possible, regardless of platform or location and this move to mobile phone apps will serve mobile phone users in a format that suits them.
"This app is the natural evolution for our news output, building on the trust our audience has for UTV as the most watched regional news channel."
