Musgrave strike deal with Wincanton Consumer Logistics
Musgrave SuperValue-Centra has entered into an agreement with Wincanton Consumer Logistics in the operation of the ambient warehousing section of the company’s Northern Ireland distribution business.
Having run the company’s adjacent chill distribution centre in Mallusk since October 1999, Musgrave said their agreement was based on Wincanton’s excellent operational capacity and customer service abilities at Mallusk.
The deal follows Musgrave’s £20m investment in a new purpose-built distribution centre and administration facility at Dargan Drive in Belfast Harbour Estate. The company currently has facilities in Fortwilliam and Mallusk.
The custom-built development will comprise a 150,000 sq ft warehouse, a 35,000 sq ft chilled storage area, and 16,000 sq ft of administrative and other office facilities.
Boasting a state-of-the-art stock management system the centre will be at the forefront of the grocery wholesale market in Northern Ireland. (MB)
