Local firm scoops environmental award
The Department of the Environment has commended a County Londonderry firm for its attainment of a prestigious environmental award.
Precision Industrial Services Ltd was presented with an ISO 14001 certificate, which highlights compliance with a high environmental standard, at their premises in Campsie Industrial Estate, Londonderry on Wednesday October 31 by DoE Minister Sam Foster.
Referring to the company’s operations, which cover a broad range of industrial and contract cleaning services, the Minister said: “The fact that your Company has achieved this award, is an indication that you have recognised your environmental responsibilities and that you are fully committed to responding positively to them. It acknowledges your valuable contribution to ensuring that we have a cleaner and healthier environment.”
Mr Foster said that he was particularly pleased to see that industry was increasingly recognising both its responsibility, and the enormous contribution, which it can make to conservation of the environment. He added: “More and more, companies are seeing that sound environmental management makes good sense, and can bring both economic and social benefits. It meets customers’ demands, it meets social responsibility and it meets legislative requirements.” (AMcE)
