Blast Bomb Attack On Police Condemned
Politicians in Co Armagh have said the community is shocked at blast bomb attack on police yesterday.
The device was been thrown at a police foot patrol in the Meadowbrook area of Craigavon, Co Armagh.
The PSNI said officers were on routine patrol at about 10.10pm on Wednesday when the bomb was thrown.
While none of the officers - from the PSNI's neighbourhood team - were injured, District Commander, Chief Supt Alasdair Robinson said it was "a mindless attack on police officers just trying to do their jobs".
"It is by sheer good fortune that one of those officers was not killed or seriously injured," he added.
Today, Alliance Upper Bann representatives Sheila McQuaid and Harry Hamilton have expressed their shock after a blast bomb was thrown at a police.
Sheila McQuaid said: "This was a shocking attack on officers who are there to help our community.
"We have seen a number of attacks on police officers in recent weeks, but the Northern Ireland public has come out in support of these brave men and woman. The public has shown its revulsion for these despicable attacks that must stop now."
Colleague, Harry Hamilton said: "It was extremely fortunate that none of the officers were hurt or killed in this callous and cowardly attack. I would like to pay tribute to all those officers who are helping keep our streets safe," he said, noting, "I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police".

Chief Constable says police 'ready' for dissident threat
PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde has warned that there may be more "problems" in the next two days as police make final security preparations to guard the polling stations in Northern Ireland ahead of tomorrow's election. The Chief Constable's comments came after a bomb attack near an army base in Dungannon in Co Tyrone on Monday.

Blaze Dramas Unfold
An investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the three fires, including one where pensioners had to be evacuated from their homes - as well as a petrol bomb attack. A row of terraced houses under construction at Milltown Street in Dungannon sustained extensive damage in the fire which was reported at 7.10am on Saturday.
