T&EA chairman praises Modern Apprentice achievers
Apprentices from across Northern Ireland have been presented with their Modern Apprenticeship Awards in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing at a ceremony in Blackwater House, Mallusk.
The Agency-backed programme, which is delivered under Jobskills by Blackwater House, culminated in the presentation of 43 awards to people from all over the province.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Training and Employment Agency, Bill McGinnis, said: “I am delighted to be here to present these certificates. In a highly competitive and fast-changing world it is vitally important to raise the levels of skill and competence of our young people.
“Modern Apprenticeships enable young people to achieve higher level qualifications and skills at craft and technician level. The young people here this evening are amongst the first in Northern Ireland to complete a Modern Apprenticeship in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing.
“They should all be warmly congratulated on their achievement, as should their employers for providing them with the opportunity to undertake and complete their apprenticeships and for their support and encouragement.” (AMcE)
