SF Target Of Alert

A security alert in west Belfast this morning following a report that a suspicious object has been left in the Falls Road area has been declared a hoax. The Falls Road was closed in both directions between Conway Street and Springfield Road. The new MLA for West Belfast, Fra McCann, stated that the bomb alert was at the Falls Road Sinn Fein office and said it was an attempt by those opposed to its strategy to try to deflect from the increased mandate, but those behind it have just caused disruption to the local community.

Everglades Backs NI Beef

Hereford beef from local farms is adding to the eating experience enjoyed by clientele of the four star Everglades Hotel in Londonderry. Head Chef Michael O'Neill said it is well matured and with sufficient fat marbling thought the meat to give that unique succulence and flavour. "A local product from Northern Ireland farms, some only a few minutes drive from the Everglades, Hereford beef is a pleasure to cook and present to customers," he said. Comments echoed by Restaurant Manager Niall Doran, who is looking ahead to the province's second city becoming our first UK City of Culture: "I am delighted to serve such a consistently high quality local product, Hereford beef.
