A Spellbinding Transformation At Ryan’s
As Belfast falls under the spell of Potter-mania with the much loved Harry Potter saga coming to an end, Ryan’s bar on the Lisburn Road is taking on a magical transformation for the final instalment of the movie.
To celebrate Harry’s final adventure, the Belfast bar and restaurant will be converted into The Leaky Cauldron, the film’s most famous pub, from Thursday 30th June until the end of July.
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ part 2 will be released on the 15th July, and with excitement and anticipation building, Ryan’s is recreating the famous setting of the fictional pub from the nations favourite book and film series. The Lisburn Road bar will be serving themed food and drinks, including Gillywater, Fire Whiskey, and of course, the Leaky Cauldron’s famous Butter Beer, both alcoholic and non alcoholic versions.
Throughout the month there will be a range of Harry Potter themed family activities, such as children’s parties featuring wand making, face painting and a Harry potter menu. Other events will include a Harry Potter Quiz and a Harry Potter Fancy Dress party, which will provide fun for all the family.
Since it first hit the screen in 2001, The Harry Potter movies have become the highest grossing film series of all time with over $5.4 billion in worldwide receipts and it was Ryan’s customers’ anticipation of the eighth and final instalment that was the catalyst to transform the bar into the Leaky Cauldron.
Gerrie Anderson, Manager of Ryan’s, said: "There has been great excitement amongst our staff and customers about ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ and as this is the last ever movie in the series and having had such an overwhelming response when we transformed the pub for the first installment of the final movie, we simply had to bring it back due to popular demand.
"The Harry Potter series has broad appeal across all ages and many of our customers have a real passion for the series. Our staff is really excited about dressing up in Harry Potter costumes, although nobody wants to draw the short straw and dress as Lord Voldemort."
