The Outcasts Return From Exile
Legendary Belfast punk band The Outcasts play their first hometown show since 1984 returning for a headline appearance at the Empire Music Hall this July.
The date is one of only a few dates announced, which will also include selected festival appearances in England and Europe, timed to celebrate 35 years of Punk
Original band members Greg Cowan, Martin Cowan and Raymond Falls will be accompanied at The Empire show by Brian Young (Rudi) and Petesy Burns (Stalag 17). Special guest duties on the night will be fulfilled by the revved up rockabilly of The Sabrejets.
Releasing two albums and a string of singles and EPs from 1978 to 1985, the band toured widely, enjoying particular success and notoriety in The UK and France.
The Outcasts legacy has just been celebrated with the release of a fourteen track live CD, Vive Lyon! drawn from two recordings of The Outcasts playing at The West Side Club, Lyon in January 1983 and September 1984
The band appears with special guests The Sabrejets on Saturday 30 July in the
Empire Music Hall, Belfast.
Tickets are priced at £10 and are available from The Empire and Ticketmaster outlets.

Australian pop babe, Holly Valance is set to kick off Belfast's Christmas period by performing live in the city. The former Neighbours star will be joined by local boy band Unity and the Botanic Primary School choir as the city's Christmas Lights are turned on next Thursday evening.

Four PSNI Officers Receive New Year Honours
Three King's Police Medals and one British Empire Medal have been awarded to PSNI officers in the New Year Honours. The King's Police Medals (KPM) have been awarded to Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd, Detective Superintendent Lindsay Fisher and Constable John Bannon, while the British Empire Medal (BEM) was awarded to James Reed.

The band master of a loyalist flute band has apologised after a photograph was released that appears to show two men in band uniforms urinating on the gate of a parochial house, according to BBC Radio Foyle. The incident took place on Irish Green Street in Limavady on Friday.
