PR Agency 'Wins MTV Awards'

Northern Ireland public relations agency Smarts has been selected to handle the Ireland-wide public relations strategy for the upcoming MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) in Belfast.

Viacom International Media Networks UK & Ireland chose the company to manage its public relations for one of the world's biggest music events, which is taking place in at the Odyssey Arena on November 6.

Kate Laverge, Vice President of Communications, Viacom International UK & Ireland said: "We are hugely excited to be bringing the EMAs to Belfast.

"We are confident that Smarts' proven reputation, extensive knowledge and relationships within Ireland'and s media community will strategically position MTV's EMAs with our regional audiences and partners."

The MTV EMAs music, youth culture and entertainment event is hosted in a different city each year and will be the biggest music event ever staged in Northern Ireland.

The awards event is one of the biggest in the world and is expected to be viewed by over 20 million people, with past performances from including global superstars such as U2, Coldplay, Green Day, Rihanna, Beyonce, Shakira, Jay-Z, Madonna, Prince, Bon Jovi, Take That and many more.

Smarts is one of Northern Ireland's leading communication's consultancy firms, combining public relations, branding, design and digital media. Smarts is the sixth largest UK consumer agency outside of London and the only Northern Ireland agency listed in PR Week's Top 150.
