Building Specialists Nominated For National Innovation Award
A company specialising in roofing, cladding and complete building envelope solutions which delivered the London Aquatics Centre roof, has been named as one of the most innovative businesses in the country.
Lakesmere, based in Winnall in Winchester, has been shortlisted for the coveted Orange Innovation Award, in the 10th annual National Business Awards.
The firm has been shortlisted because of its innovative approach to the construction industry. Lakesmere consistently innovates the systems and services it offers clients across the business. One example of its pioneering innovations is its new Thru-Wall system, which offers a new approach to the design, manufacture and installation of off-site engineered structural insulated panels (SIPS) complete with external facade. Lakesmere and supply chain partner, Hemsec Installations, joined forces to launch the new off-site solution concept which is unique in the UK.
The Orange Innovation Award recognises businesses that have gone beyond the ordinary in their development and implemented cutting edge innovation in terms of products, services or company culture. Lakesmere will now prepare to make its presentation in person before an independent, expert judging panel in October before the winners are announced at an awards ceremony in November.
Mo Morgan, Marketing and Communications Manager, Lakesmere said: "Lakesmere is dedicated to embracing innovation at every level in order to constantly improve the service we offer our clients. The development of Thru-Wall, alongside our supply chain partners Hemsec Installations, is one of our greatest achievements to date. We are delighted that Thru-Wall has been recognised by such a leading brand as Orange; winning this award would be an important boost for both Thru-Wall itself and the team that has worked so hard to bring this innovative concept to life. Lakesmere is proud to fly the flag as pioneers of innovation within the construction industry and this prestigious accolade for Thru-Wall is testament to our successful collaborative approach."
In total, over 152 of Britain’s top public and private sector businesses have been announced as finalists across all categories in the National Business Awards, in partnership with Orange.
