Start-up Companies To Create 445 New Jobs
Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton has announced that 445 jobs will be created in 24 new start-up companies in the second quarter of this year.
The jobs will be created in the companies which have been supported by Government through Enterprise Ireland.
The companies, which are located in businesses across Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Waterford, Offaly and Cork, will take be recruiting staff over the next three years.
Nearly 200 hundreds will be created in Dublin.
The companies are involved in a variety of industries including medical technology, food, life sciences, financial services and information and communications technology.
Making the announcement Minister Bruton said: "If we are to rebuild the economy and create the jobs of the future in Ireland, we must not only continue to attract high-end multinational companies, but we must also crucially ensure that more high potential small businesses can establish and expand here.
"Today's announcement that over 400 jobs will be created in indigenous companies supported by Government in the second quarter of the year is very good news. Many of these companies are operating in precisely the innovative sectors that the Government is targeting for growth: clean tech, life sciences, ICT and financial services."
Earlier this year, 310 new jobs were announced as part of the first quarter results of Enterprise Ireland's High Potential Start Ups programme, compared to 284 jobs in 20 companies during the second quarter of last year.
