Free Festival Announced For Carrick

A Carrick based charity has announced this week it will be putting on a free concert in the town, calling it Music 4 Life.

The event will be used to raise awareness for a number of vital charities operating throughout Northern Ireland.

The event is being organised by the Community Charity Company, who have enlisted the help of local businesses to make the event possible, and hope to make the gig the first of many.

Appearing at the event, which taking place at the Harbour Complex along the Carrick coast, is a number of top class bands, with More Than Conquerors topping the bill.

The Northern Irish band will be joined by other local favourites including Organ Grinder, Kobi, Hi Jack, Gareth Brannigan, Adam Craig, Freefall, Ross Alexander, Mark Braidner and more.

Organiser Robert Stuart told us: "We want to support people who need our help and the people who help us. There's nearly 1,000 artists from the area playing in bands and performing, so we wanted to give some of those people a stage, so we've brought everyone together to put on this huge event."

"This is going to be great free festival and for such a great cause and we appreciate help from anybody willing to give it."

Music 4 Life takes place in the Harbour carpark in Carrick on Saturday August 27, and is free to attend.
