350 Jobs To Go At Anglo Irish

Anglo Irish Bank has announced plans to cut 350 jobs by 2012.

According to reports, 130 jobs are to go in Ireland and the firm is hoping to achieve the reduction through voluntary redundancies.

The bank currently employs around 1,280 staff and jobs cut have been expected for some time.

Anglo Irish Bank merged with Irish Nationwide Society on July 1 as part of the Government's banking strategy and is due to be wound down by 2020.

Sales Firm Creates Galway Jobs

The 'sales outsourcing' firm is creating the new positions over the next three months throughout the country in counties Cork, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth. Six of the roles are management positions.
