Antrim development scheme aims to attract further business interest
Antrim Towns Development Company has launched a new brochure in a bid to highlight the opportunities available for investment throughout the Borough of Antrim.
The brochure, ‘Antrim Borough - Gateway to Growth’, has received support from numerous companies in an area which is already showing signs of increasing investment from both the public and private sectors.
In June Antrim saw the re-opening of the Belfast to Antrim Bleach Green Railway line at a cost of £16 million. The town also heard of plans to develop a town centre site which will accommodate a new bus concourse, public library and commercial retail space.
By the autumn there is also the hope that a decision will have been made in regard to a £10 million investment by Tesco that will create a new food store within Antrim town centre.
Antrim Towns Development Company, a voluntary town centre partnership, is already working closely with Antrim Borough Council and other partners in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to provide a dedicated focus to encourage investment, particularly from business and government organisations to help move forward social and economic prosperity in Antrim Borough Towns. Police Search Mid And East Antrim Borough Council Offices
The PSNI have carried out a search of the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council offices as part of an investigation into suspected misconduct in public office. According to reports, officers from the Criminal Investigation Branch visited the council headquarters at Bridge Street, Ballymena, on Tuesday 5 April 2022.

Man Sentenced After Dogs Found In 'Unbearable' Conditions
A County Antrim man has been sentenced after four dogs were found living alongside rotten animal carcasses. Mr Andrew McAuley (58) of Braepark Road, Ballyclare was charged with causing unnecessary suffering and failure to ensure the welfare of four dogs that were in his care.

Co Antrim Pair Sentenced For Starving Dogs
A man and woman from Co Antrim are banned from keeping animals after they pled guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to four dogs. Danielle Agnew (26) and Ryan O'Neill (29) formerly of Larne Road in Carrickfergus appeared before Laganside Magistrates Court on Thursday 29 August.
