Antrim development scheme aims to attract further business interest
Antrim Towns Development Company has launched a new brochure in a bid to highlight the opportunities available for investment throughout the Borough of Antrim.
The brochure, ‘Antrim Borough - Gateway to Growth’, has received support from numerous companies in an area which is already showing signs of increasing investment from both the public and private sectors.
In June Antrim saw the re-opening of the Belfast to Antrim Bleach Green Railway line at a cost of £16 million. The town also heard of plans to develop a town centre site which will accommodate a new bus concourse, public library and commercial retail space.
By the autumn there is also the hope that a decision will have been made in regard to a £10 million investment by Tesco that will create a new food store within Antrim town centre.
Antrim Towns Development Company, a voluntary town centre partnership, is already working closely with Antrim Borough Council and other partners in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to provide a dedicated focus to encourage investment, particularly from business and government organisations to help move forward social and economic prosperity in Antrim Borough Towns. Over £400k Invested In Antrim Capital Sports Projects
Over £400,000 has been invested by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in capital projects to develop local sports. Stemming from the Amateur and Grassroots Sporting Organisations Improvement Fund, grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 were available, covering up to 50% of capital project costs.
