Arrests Follow Dungannon Assault Death
There has been two arrests and widespread condemnation after a 38-year-old man died from his injuries after being dragged from a car and beaten in County Tyrone.
The attack happened in the Castlehill area of Dungannon at around 1pm on Tuesday.
PSNI officers probing the killing of the victim - understood to be a member of the Travelling community - have arrested a 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and police have also appealed for information.
The Sinn Fein MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Michelle Gildernew, called the death a "tragedy".
"The people of the area are rocked by the tragic death and will, I'm sure, rally around the deceased man's relatives and offer whatever support they can."
"This is a tragedy for the man’s family and friends and they have our sympathy as they go through this terrible time."
Sinn Fein Councillor Bronwyn McGahan has also said she is shocked at the death of a man today in Dungannon.
"I was shocked to hear about the death of a man today in Dungannon and my sympathies goes out to his family.
"I am asking that anyone with information bring it forward to the PSNI and allow them to hold a full and thorough investigation into the circumstance of this mans death."
Ulster Unionist MLA for the constituency, Tom Elliott, said he was "absolutely shocked" to hear of the death.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.

Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.

Second Man Arrested Over Liverpool Hit-And-Run
A second man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Liverpool in which Co Antrim man Matthew Bradley was killed. The 33-year-old man was detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in Bradford. He has been conditionally bailed to appear in court in December, according to Merseyside Police.

Former Mayor Dies Refereeing Match
A respected South Down politician and immediate past mayor has died suddenly. The 52-year-old was acting as referee at a GAA match in Co Down last night when he suddenly collapsed and died Michael Cole, from Kilkeel, was a councillor on Newry and Mourne District Council and had just completed a term as mayor.
