Murders On Screen
CCTV images described as "graphic" saw some members of the families of two murdered soldiers leaving the court as the footage was shown yesterday. Patrick Azimkar, 21, from north London and Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham were shot dead the night before they were due to be deployed to Afghanistan. They were killed outside the gates of Massereene Army barracks as they collected a pizza delivery. Colin Duffy, 43, from Lurgan, and Brian Shivers, 46, from Magherafelt, both deny any role in the murders. The case began yesterday and included film of the actual shooting taking place.
Two Held Over Murder
PSNI detectives are questioning two men arrested in connection with the murder of pensioner Leslie White in Co Armagh. The men, aged 58 and 39, were arrested by police investigating the death of 69-year-old Leslie White, who was last seen in the Lurgan area in November 2010.
Festive Stamps Launched
This year's Royal Mail Christmas stamps - issued today - feature scenes inspired by the Nativity. Mary and the Baby Jesus appear on the 1st Class stamp and Joseph being visited by the Angel on the 2nd Class stamp. The seven Christmas stamps are inspired by verses from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke and recognise that 2011 is the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. Officially launching the stamps, The Very Revd John Owen Mann, Dean of St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast, said: "The Christmas Stamps this year are both beautiful and meaningful. The sense of communication between God and humanity, between the angel and Joseph and the Shepherds, is expressed in gesture as well as atmosphere," he said.
Olympic Torch 'Lit'
The Ulster Unionist Sports spokesperson Robin Swann has welcomed confirmation that the Olympic Torch Relay Route will cover all 26 Councils in Northern Ireland in June of next year. The North Antrim MLA said: "The London 2012 Olympics will be the major sporting event of next summer and there is already great excitement in Northern Ireland as people look forward in anticipation. The Olympic Torch relay route will take in 65 communities in all 26 of Northern Ireland local council areas over a five-day period between Sunday 3rd June to Thursday 7th June next year," he said, adding: "This means that from Enniskillen to Ballycastle, Londonderry to Newcastle and all points in between, local people will be able to see the Olympic torch and share in the Olympic vision."

The NI Culture Minister, Carál Ní Chuilín will today attend the launch of 'Your Working life', the first in a series of roadshows to help those seeking employment; a change of career; facing redundancy; returning to work; or leaving school. The roadshows will provide help and information to people from all walks of life by providing a range of relevant information and advice from LibrariesNI and various other organisations. Jim Eastwood from the Apprentice will be delivering the 'Impress In Style: talking the talk' workshop as part of today's event.

Man Jailed In Connection With Annahilt Cannabis Farm
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.
