Hong Kong software deal for Sx3
Leading technology provider, Sx3 has won a major contract in Hong Kong which aims to address some of the housing problems faced by the Chinese territory.
The contract, which has been awarded by the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS), is for the supply of Sx3's FIRST Housing(tm) suite - specially designed software which will be used to manage over 54,000 properties throughout Hong Kong.
K L Wong, Director of Estates Management, HKHS said: "We purposely chose a system that is proven and widely accepted by other housing organisations around the world.
"The system is flexible enough to address the needs of the HKHS and the Hong Kong market in general. Fundamentally the FIRST Housing system is 'people and property' based, rather than purely an accounting property-based system.
“It will, I believe, give us a real competitive edge when bidding for new management contracts in the future."
Rob Astley, Director and General Manager of Sx3's public sector division in
Hong Kong, added: "The market here is developing rapidly and it is difficult for existing IT systems, many of which have been developed in-house, to keep up with the speed of change.
“On the whole the market has recognised this fact and companies and organisations are looking for suppliers with direct experience in housing management software."
As part of this implementation Sx3 will translate its software into traditional Chinese and make certain adaptations to functionality in line with the needs of the local housing and property management market. (MB)
