Local firm scoops accountancy website award
A Newry and Dundalk based Chartered Accountancy firm, FPM, has won an award from the Association of On-Line Accountants for its website.
The FPM website at www.fpmca.com has become the first accountancy website in Ireland to be accredited by the Association of On-Line Accountants.
Mark Lloydbottem, chief Executive of the On-Line Accountants Association said: “FPM are a prime example of the new breed of accountants who believe in providing added-value to their clients using the latest technology”.
The website award was presented to FPM Managing Partner, Feargal McCormack by Mr Henry Saville, President of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants at the FPM 10th anniversary celebration in Newry on 3 August.
In accepting the website award Feargal McCormack, Managing Partner at FPM said “We put a lot of thought into the development of our website and we are delighted that it is the first accountancy website in Ireland to achieve the On-Line Accountants accreditation. The investment in the website reflects FPM’s commitment to be future orientated and provide a value added, client focused service to provide solutions to meet clients business requirements”.
Being the first in Ireland to achieve the award represents a hat-trick of success for FPM in that the practice was the first accountancy firm in Ireland to secure ISO 9001 Quality Accreditation and also the Investors in People recognition.
The FPM website which is WAP enabled contains information on a vast range of subjects from business tips to direct access to a number of key business sites. (AMcE)

Global accountancy qualification a step closer
Seven of Europe's leading accountancy Institutes have announced a joint project to explore how to bring their professional qualifications closer together within five years. The Institutes hope that the project will result in the greater part of the content of the curricula for their qualifications being common to all the Institutes.
