Teenagers injured in overnight assaults
The province has seen a series of overnight assaults during which two teenagers were attacked and beaten in two separate incidents.
In Belfast, a 19 year old man, who was walking home after collecting a prescription from a chemists on the Newtownards Road, was set upon by a gang of five men who held him down and subjected him to a violent assault during which he was kicked and beaten. The men, thought to be loyalists, then ran off. The teenager was taken to hospital where he was detained for several hours before being released.
In another overnight incident, a 17-year-old youth has been run over and shot in Killough, County Down. Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, during which the teenager, walking along Fisherman’s Road, was hit by a motorbike upon which two people were travelling, and then shot in both feet. The assailants then left in the direction of St John’s Point. (CL)

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
