Walking tours of Armagh hailed as a success

The historic City of Armagh has recently hosted yet another successful series of guided walking and bus tours in the summer period.

Armagh’s historic City environs are packed full of interesting architecture and attracted by the City’s great character many tourists visit each year to take in the sights, not least of which are the views of the City’s twin Cathedrals and the attractive linear tree-lined park at the heart of the City’s old Mall.

Ghilian Campbell, of Armagh City Council, said: “Armagh City Walking Tours are an opportunity to have Armagh's history presented in an imaginative and enjoyable manner - who said history was dead?

“The tour lasts an hour and a half and covers a wide area from English Street, to Cathedral Road, from Castle Street to the Mall. It is packed full of interesting facts and stories about Armagh’s past.”

While guided walking tours will run throughout the summer, tours can be organised for groups who have an interest in learning about Armagh’s history.

Further information on Armagh walking tours can be obtained from Ghilian Campbell at the Armagh Tourist Information Centre tel. 028 3752 1800.
