Businessman's Death Shocks Town
One of the north coast's best- known businessmen has passed away at the age of 52. Ian Madden was the owner of the Anchor complex in Portstewart's strand - one of the busiest and most popular nightspots in the area. The cause of Mr Madden's death is not yet clear. Councillor Bernard Fitzpatrick said Mr Madden was a fit man who spent a lot of his time training in the gym.
Police Attempt To Tackle Incidents At West Belfast Interface
Police have been meeting community representatives to discuss sectarian incidents at a west Belfast interface. The talks follow a series of attacks on homes and cars in the Black's Road-Suffolk area in recent weeks. A police spokesman said officers had taken the names of 15 young people and visited their parents and guardians to discuss their behaviour. They have appealed to parents to ensure they know where their children are at night.
NI Court Throw Out Quinn Bankruptcy Case
A judge has ruled that former billionaire Sean Quinn is not entitled to file for bankruptcy in Northern Ireland.Quinn declared himself bankrupt in November, following a legal challenge by the Anglo Irish bank which claimed he should be declared bankrupt in the Republic of Ireland.He currently owes the bank, now rebranded the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC), a multi-million Euro debt.In the High Court in Belfast Mr Justice Donal Deeny ruled in favour of the bank.The case argued that the usual place of residence for Quinn was in the Republic.

Queen's Festival Announces New Director
The Belfast festival at Queen's has announced arts programmer and producer Richard Wakely as its new director. Mr Wakely is a former Managing Director of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, while his role as Commissioner for the China-Ireland Cultural Exchange Programme for the Irish government saw him tour throughout Europe, the UK and South America.
