Woman Carjacked In Belfast

A woman has had her car hijacked in Belfast City Centre this morning this will be the sixth carjacking in the Belfast area in the last ten days.

The woman was parking her car in John Street area at 07.30 when a man wearing a hooded top approached the car opened the door and ordered her to get out.

A struggled ensued and the woman got out following this the man then drove of in the car at high speed. He turned left at the end of John Street. The woman was not injured in the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

This marks the sixth carjacking in the Belfast area in just over a week.

Earlier in the week Police dismissed claims that four previous carjackings are connected.

All four incidents happened in the Belfast City area and all the victims were women. Meanwhile all four cars were found burnt out in the Divis and Grosvenor areas of West Belfast.

Police have however said that evidence collected at this point does not connect the incidents and there are no links at this point to suggest the crimes were committed by the same people.

Man Arrested After Police Car Chase In West Belfast
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast. The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on. They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.

Man escapes injury in shooting
A man has escaped injury after shots were fired at his home in Co Antrim last night. The 24-year-old was inside his house on the McCorley Road in Toombridge when a shot was fired at his front door. Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen a light coloured car driving off from the area at around 11.30pm to contact them.

Man Critical After Being Hit By Car In Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was struck by a car near the Belfast International Airport. The incident happened on the Ballyrobin Road just before 4.40pm on Saturday, 20 November. The pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital. The Ballyrobin Road has been re-opened.

Man Threatened And Sum Of Cash Of Stolen In Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a number of men threatened and demanded money from a man in Belfast. The incident happened in the Yorkgate area on Wednesday, 30 November. The victim, aged in his 30s, was forced into a car, taken to his home where a sum of cash was stolen. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Officers injured as police vehicle is rammed at high speed
Two police officers have been slightly injured when their vehicle was rammed at high speed in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast. The incident occurred at Brompton Park in the Ardoyne area of North Belfast. A police spokesperson said that the police vehicle was rammed at high speed by a car shortly after 3:30 am on Wednesday morning.
