US Software Company Site Brings 200 Jobs
Labour TD for Galway West has welcomed the news that work is to begin on the former laundry plant in Rahoon for US software giant ZeniMax Online Studios - with the creation of 200 jobs.
Derek Nolan said he was delighted to hear that the company was granted permission for the conversion of the site in the Rahoon Business Park, which will see a change of use of the industrial building to technology office use.
Mr Nolan said: "I welcome the approval of this planning application by the city planners, which will see around 200 jobs being created by the company by mid-April.
"At a time when creating jobs is absolutely paramount, it is a great boost for Galway city for work to be beginning on this development, and I am encouraged by the fact that there is great potential for even more jobs to be created on the land adjacent to the site."
Mr Nolan also welcomed the recent announcement that OpenJaw are to create 10 new jobs in its regional office in Galway as part of an Enterprise Ireland-supported €3.3m R&D investment.

260 New Jobs Announced In Galway And Sligo
A total of 260 new jobs have been announced for Galway and Sligo. In Galway, Wayfair Inc has announced an expansion of its multi-lingual European Operations Centre, with the creation of 160 new jobs. Wayfair will open a new 30,000 square foot facility on Tuam Road to replace its prior facility in Mervue Business Park.

200 New Jobs Announced In Galway
Up to 200 new jobs are to be created in Galway by New York-based insurance firm, MetLife. The company is to create the new jobs are part of an expansion plan in Ireland, which will see them open a new Global Technology Campus. The new campus is expected to be opened in early 2017, and recruitment for the new IT roles is to begin immediately.

Two hundred jobs are to be created in Galway by online retailer CSN Stories, it has been revealed. The world wide firm said the plans would be implemented over the next three years. CSN is expected to set up a European, Middle Eastern and African headquarters in the city.
