Eastern Promise To Be Outlined At Asia Export Boot Camp
Northern Ireland companies with the potential to export to Asia will hear from some of the world’s leading experts on trading with the continent’s key markets during an Ulster Bank-backed event in Belfast next month.
Experts from Invest NI and Ulster Bank’s global parent company RBS will be on hand at Riddel Hall on 10th February for the event, which is part of a series of events taking place across the UK to highlight the support available for companies interested in expanding their business to new markets.
The event, which is free to attend, will feature a series of clinics on China, India, Malaysia and Singapore delivered by local businesses who are successfully trading in Asian markets alongside market experts who will discuss the on-the-ground economic, political and business environment in the market.
Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI’s Trade Director, said: "Asia has long been recognised by Invest NI as an important marketplace for the very broad range of products and services provided by our companies. This is demonstrated by the presence of Invest NI in-market advisors in a number of these markets, as well as our office in Dubai from which Northern Ireland companies can focus on the surrounding markets. By working in partnership with Ulster Bank and UKTI at this event we can help Northern Ireland companies to take advantage of the export opportunities."
Ian Jordan, Head of Business and Commercial Banking at Ulster Bank, said: "The Asia Pacific region is home to almost half the world’s population and its economies are predicted to continue experiencing strong growth, offering great opportunities for Northern Ireland businesses.
"Advances in technology and the growth of the internet now enable businesses to communicate 24/7 with customers and suppliers at a relatively low cost, which has opened a world of export accessibility for companies seeking to do business outside of their home market. Ulster Bank is delighted to support this event which will give an invaluable insight into doing business in Asia."
