New Moderator Of Presbyterian Church Named
The new moderator of the Presbyterian Church has been named.
Eight out of 19 Presbyteries nominated Rev Roy Patton during a meeting last night that was called throughout Northern Ireland in a bid to appoint the new figurehead.
He is minister of Ballygilbert Presbyterian Church near Bangor in Co Down and will succeed Dr Ivan Patterson as Moderator on May 28.
The 58-year-old has been the minister at Ballygilbert church for nearly two decades. He studied at Trinity College in Dublin and New College in Edinburgh before completing training for the Presbyterian ministry in 1980.

Presbyterian Church To Install New Moderator
The Presbyterian Church has confirmed it is to install Dr Noble McNeely as its new moderator. Around 800 Presbyterians from across Ireland, civic dignitaries and guests from churches at home and overseas will gather in Belfast on Monday evening, 05 June, for the installation of the new Moderator.

The Presbyterian Church has confirmed that its next moderator will be the minister of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ahoghill, Dr Harry Uprichard. Dr Uprichard will succeed Dr Ken Newell in June after being nominated by 12 out of the 21 Presbyteries which met on Tuesday.

A Ballymena cleric has been appointed the new Moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster. Rev John Greer is the third man to lead the church in its 61-year history. His predecessor Rev Ron Johnstone took over from the denomination's founder Rev Ian Paisley in 2008.
