Parents Of School Boy Bomb Victim Ask McGuinness For Answers
Parents of a boy, killed when he set of an IRA bomb left in garden, have alleged that Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister knows who was involved.
The bomb which was left in the garden of a home in Londonderry in 1973 was triggered by schoolboy Gordon Gallagher. The nine-year-old died as result of the bomb.
Martin McGuinness was in jail at the time, but Gordon’s parents Billy and Pat Gallagher said he could help them get to the truth about what happened.
At the time the IRA admitted to the family that a device had been left in the garden.
A report into the fatal bomb by the Historial Enquiries Team revealed no new leads and now the family believe that the only way to discover the truth is through the IRA.
McGuinness, through his own admission was second in command of the IRA at the time of the schoolboy’s death. For this reason the family believe that he would know who was involved and are appealing to him for help.
